Hello Parents,

Congratulations to the girls on their performance this past weekend – we saw a video of the excitement when they found out they won an At-Large bid to the Cheerleading World Championships.
We wanted to email all our current information we have to bring everyone up to speed, as we have had a number of questions already.
1. Award of an “At Large Bid” – this means that we have received an “invitation” to compete at the 2017 Cheer Worlds Championships.
2. The bid does not discount/include any paid for items (like a full paid or partial paid bid does), so at this point, the prices to attend would be the full, undiscounted rates.
3. Our team still has an opportunity to compete for a partial paid bid both at Best of the West as well as at Sea to Sky competition. Depending on when awarded, this could mean a discount in expenses for worlds, as a portion is then covered as part of the bid process.
4. Schedule – The schedule of Cheerleading Worlds is Wednesday, April 26 to Tuesday, May 2. The competition schedule for our division begins on Saturday, April 29th and finals are on Monday, May 1. Our calculations below are based on arriving Friday and departing Monday.
5. Danny and I have made an approximation of expenses for parents (these are rough calculations based on what we currently know), and the breakdown is the following:
Flights – Fri-Mon – roughly $800CAD roundtrip
Hotel – package through venue – Fri-Mon (3 night package, 4 people/room) – $560USD/person (this would be $760CAD/person)
*this includes transportation to and from airport, transportation to and from venues for competition, admittance to venues for competition, and “Park Hopper” pass allowing admittance to any Disneyland venue during Fri-Mon period
Food/Incidentals – Fri-Mon – approx $50/day – $200/person
Coach/Chaperone Expenses – based on 2 coaches, 1 chaperone – rough estimate at this time, but likely $300/person (although this can vary depending on who needs chaperone and how that expense is divided)
Rough total – $2,060 CAD

Any questions or concerns can be directed to myself or Danny.
